There are also several locally owned boutiques spread across easily accessible shopping areas within Boca Raton that offer unique shopping experiences. One such area is Mizner Park. Mizner Park is located in the heart of Boca Raton. As the name implies, this is an outdoor retail space that offers a variety of specialty luxury shops and several restaurants and an amphitheater that offers a variety of outdoor concerts all year long. 

Parks and Recreation

Boca Raton has a two-mile stretch of beach that is lifeguard protected 7 days a week, from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. The city also has three city parks South Beach, Red Reef and Spanish River that are connected to miles of beach. These parks include picnic tables, grills, restrooms and playgrounds, making them perfect for afternoon picnics. Have a dog? Don't worry a part of the Spanish River Park is designated as dog friendly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00A.M.to 9:00P.M. In addition to its beautiful parks and beaches Boca Raton is also known for its golf courses both private and public. Golf enthusiasts will have the option of hitting the green at either The Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course, Championship and Executive Courses or the Red Reef Park Executive Golf Course.

 

Living

Boca Raton is known as a business center with several fortune 500 companies offering a variety of employment opportunities. Companies like Office Depot, has its global headquarters in Boca Raton. Other companies based in Boca Raton include American Media, The GEO Group, Luxury Resorts, Vitacost and more. Top employers in the Delray Beach area include the Delray Medical Center, Publix, JET Flite and Amoco Services.

 

Schools, Health, and Transportation

Boca Raton is part of The School District of Palm Beach County, which is the top-performing urban school district in the state. It includes 185 schools and is the eleventh largest district in the country. In addition to the exceptional public schools, there are several private schools in the area as well. St Andrews, Pine Crest, North Broward Preparatory, Spanish River Christian School, St. Jude and St Paul are just a sampling of the available schools.

Boca Raton is served two hospitals, on the east part of the city (east of I-95) there is  Boca Raton Regional Hospital and on the west part of the city (off of 441/SR7) Boca West Hospital.

Although most residents drive, there are public transportation options, such as the Palm Tran public bus system and the Tri-Rail.
